Digangana Suryavanshi replaces Rhea Chakraborty in Dhanusu Raasi Neyargalae

In April, we’d reported that Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty would be making her Kollywood debut with Sanjay Bharathi’s

, which stars Harish Kalyan in the lead. Now, we’ve learnt that the actress will not be a part of the project owing to date clashes, and has been replaced by yet another Bollywood actress, Digangana Suryavanshi. Interestingly, this film will mark her debut in the Tamil industry.

Sanjay confirms, “We started shooting with Harish and the rest of the cast a few months ago, and both Rhea and Reba Monica John were supposed to join the team sometime in June. But we weren’t able to work out continuous dates with Rhea because she was also busy with her Bollywood films. Harish, too, had other commitments. So, we spoke to Rhea and her team and mutually decided to part ways.”
The director had seen the trailer of the Telugu film Hippi, which starred Digangana in the lead, and had approached her for a narration. The actress tells us, “I spoke to Sanjay over phone and I liked my characterisation. I’ll be playing the lead in this film, and will begin shooting in Chennai from this week.”

We tried reaching out to Rhea, but she remained unavailable for comment till the time of going to press.
