The highly anticipated trailer of Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan, was unveiled today for media in Chennai. While the digital release of trailer will be happen today evening, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan took a dig at the Indian political system and the ever growing corruption, that gives fodder for making films like his upcoming movie 'Indian 2' directed by Shankar.
Interestingly, Kamal Haasan started off by comparing Shankar to the Hollywood greats such as Alfred Hitchcock and Cecil B DeMille, the two filmmakers he knew of successfully making the same film twice. "There are only two filmmakers who have created art in the same way. One is Cecil B DeMille and the other is Alfred Hitchcock. Hitchcock's 'The 39 Steps' was first made in black and white and then in colour again. Similarly, Cecil B DeMille made 'The Ten Commandments'. Now Shankar has done it," said Kamal Haasan.
He went on to mention that he and Shankar had discussed the possibility of a second part in 1996 when the original film released, even before the trend of second parts became a thing.
Kamal also recalled Vivekh, Manobala and Nedumundi Venu, who passed away during the making of the film. "It feels like it was just yesterday that I shot a few scenes with Vivekh. Him along with Manobala, and Nedumudi Venu should have been here with us and to see its success," added Kamal Haasan.
