Actor and director SJ Suryah is celebrating his birthday today, July 20. He started his career in the film industry in 1988 by playing minor uncredited roles in movies and gave a big break as a director in 1999. He has acted in more than 23 films and still has 6 films that are in the pipeline awaiting their release. He has directed 7 films on whole and has also tried his hands at music composing and lyrics. After two decades of his presence in the film industry, here are a few movies that were a major highlight in his life for his career growth.

'Dejavu' to get a Hindi remake

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, ‘Maanaadu’ was a blockbuster hit in 2021. The film featured Simbu and SJ Suryah in the lead roles. SJ Suryah was praised for his acting in the film and his role as an antagonist was an added advantage to the film. Following the success of ‘Maanaadu’, SJ Suryah had the opportunity to gain more offers for acting in films.

The movie was adapted from a Hollywood film. Though the movie was not a commercial hit, it still had a huge commotion when released and it added advantage to SJ Suryah’s movie career.
