Gautham Karthik's '1947, August 16' release date revealed

While the newly married Gautham Karthik is awaiting the release of his film 'Pathu Thala', which also has Silambarasan in the lead role on March 30, 2023, the young actor's upcoming period film, '1947, August 16' bankrolled by AR Murugadoss, and helmed by his long-time associate NS Ponkumar is gearing up for a summer release. The makers have officially announced that the film hit the screens on April 7, 2023.

Produced by AR Murugadoss, the period drama is touted to be a pan-India film. The film, which was shot at locations in Tamil Nadu, is currently in post-production. The film's technical team includes Selvakumar SK handling the camera and Sudharsan taking care of the editing.

The film is produced by AR Murugadoss, Om Prakash Bhatt, Narsiram Choudhary and co-produced by Aditya Joshi. The film is a fascinating tale of an erstwhile village where one brave man battles evil British forces for love during the cusp of Indian independence.
