After giving a blockbuster hit ‘
Maanaadu
’ in 2021,
Simbu
signed up for his next with
Gautham Vasudev Menon. Titled ‘
Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu
’, the music for the movie is composed by
AR Rahman
and the film features Simbu, Siddhi Idnani,
Raadhika Sarathkumar
, Siddique,
Neeraj Madhav and Angelina Abraham among others. The shooting for the film was completed a couple of months ago and it is currently in post-production.
Now, there is a new buzz that the movie makers are eyeing to release the film in August this year. Reportedly, the producers want the movie to have a solo release in theatres and are planning to release the film on August 18, 2022. An official announcement regarding the movie release date is awaited.
‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ is a rustic thriller and the teaser of the film was released in December and it was well received. The first single from the movie has already been released. The movie shows Simbu in a different light as ‘Muthu’ a laborer who has fled to Mumbai from Tamil Nadu.
Following ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’, Simbu has a few projects in the pipeline that include ‘Pathu Thala’, ‘
Corona Kumar
’, an untitled film with
Madonne Ashwin and a new film with director
Lingusamy
