GV Prakash Kumar and Divyabharathi's Bachelor to release on December 3

The makers of

Bachelor

, the romantic drama starring

GV Prakash Kumar

and newcomer

Divyabharathi

, have finally announced the release date of the film — December 3. The film is directed by debutant Sathish Selvakumar. While GV Prakash himself has composed the music for the film,

Theni Eswar

has done the cinematography.

"Our film is a discussion on what real love is. It is set in contemporary times and will reflect what's happening in terms of man-woman relationships. We have tried to shoot it in a way that is as close to reality as possible. There is no way that this film will feel like another film," the filmmaker had told us during an earlier interview.

Bachelor will be the first of the almost half-a-dozen films of GV Prakash that are either completed or are in the post-production stage. The composer-turned-actor had signed a series of films before 2019, but due to several reasons, including the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the films got delayed.

While the

first look

of the film had kicked up some

controversy

with quite a few finding the visual to be somewhat

vulgar

, the teaser of the film had brought in some criticism for a few dialogues that are in your face. "Since we were trying to portray a relationship in a realistic way, the rawness was inevitable. The dialogues are lines that people speak when they find themselves in a particular situation. I'd rather prefer that the dialogues aren't noticed at all," the director had explained his point of view in our interview.
