Halitha Shameem's 'Minimini' to hit the big screens this August

The upcoming Tamil film 'Minmini' is directed by Halitha Shameem. The film finally after 6 years gets a release window. The makers took to social media to announce that the film will hit the big screens this August.


'Minmini' is considered a dream project of director Halitha Shameem and it was shot over seven years as the director wanted to show the real age difference and aging of her characters by natural time without using any graphics. The film stars Esther Anil, Praveen Kishore, Gaurav Kalai among others and the film's initial shooting began in 2015, and the final schedule was wrapped up in 2022. The first single was launched in 2023.



The film is a coming-of-age drama and is about two young children carrying a survivor's guilt through their life. The exact date of the film release is yet to be shared by the makers. The technical crew consists of cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa and editor Raymond Derrick Crasta.

Following the film's wrap up in July 2022, the director took to social media to share her gratitude and she said, " “Shooting in difficult terrain with a very minimal crew had its own unique challenges. Queuing up for supplemental oxygen, constantly checking your oxygen levels, feeling breathless, feeling slowness in whatever you do and yet managing to do the work one step at a time and static electricity shock is the cherry on top of an experience that none of us can easily forget."
