The OTT release of biggies is highly anticipated by fans, and most films have its digital release after a month of its theatrical release. But Chiyaan Vikram starrer 'Thangalaan', which was released on August 15, didn't have an OTT release yet, and this made fans wait for a long time. According to Indiaglitz Tamil, there is a reason behind the delay in 'Thangalaan' OTT release. It has been revealed that a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking a ban on the 'Thangalaan' OTT release. The petition was filed by a person named Porkodi from Thiruvallur, who claims that 'Thangalaan' contains scenes that portray Buddhism in a sacred manner while depicting Vaishnavism humorously. The petitioner has expressed concern that releasing the film on OTT could lead to conflicts between the two communities. The case is expected to be heard soon, and 'Thangalaan' will be released on OTT only after the court's final verdict.
