Horror films are fun to watch
Even though Santhanam has been part of horror films earlier, this is his first as the lead. The actor gears up for the release of his horror-comedy,
Is this a spoof of other horror films? He says, ���It is not a spoof. The story revolves around a love story, but has an interesting ghost episode. Motta Rajendran and I have done some hilarious comedy scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him. I have tried slapstick comedy��� something on the lines of Mr Bean.��� On his role, Santhanam says, ���I play a middle-class guy, Kumar, who resides in Royapettah. His mother is a dance master and his father is a fight master. I did some research on men who live in this locality, their looks, and tried something different with my hairstyle and moustache for this film. Though it is a horror-comedy, I had to perform some major action blocks.���
Santhanam has teamed up with his Lollu Sabha teammates in this film. ���Working with my Lollu Sabha team was like a reunion. We had a great time shooting together as we all share the same wave length. When shooting, we used to discuss a lot of scripts. The one-liner of this film was developed way back. When Ram approached me with the script, I wanted to work on it. As I have teamed up with them, I guarantee that this film will be a two-hour laugh riot.���
Dhilluku Dhuddu
, which hits the screens today. This film, we hear, is expected to have some spine-chilling horror scenes and bone-tickling funny moments. Ask Santhanam about taking up this genre and he says, ���Ever since our childhood, we have been told ghost stories by our moms. Even I grew up listening to those stories and I have to admit that I was scared of ghosts. But horror movies are fun to watch. More than the scary part, when somebody shouts in the theatre when watching an intense horror scene, we end up laughing. I wanted to do a horror-comedy for a long time, and this film came my way at the right time.���Santhanam has teamed up with his Lollu Sabha teammates in this film. ���Working with my Lollu Sabha team was like a reunion.
