Actor Santhosh Prathap who made his debut in Tamil cinema in 2014 with ‘Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam’ was last seen in the movie ‘Sarpatta Paramabarai’. The actor is now working on a crime thriller and has signed up for a new project with actress Hansika Motwani which had its muhurat poojah on February 14 and was officially launched. The actor, in an exclusive interview with ETimes, revealed that he would have liked to play the role of

Dancing Rose

in the movie.

The actor shared with us how he adapted to the role of Raman in the movie. “We had to implement the ideas and the technique of Mike Tyson,

Mohammad Ali

and George Foreman. As I played the role of ‘Raman’, I adopted the fighting technique of George Foreman while boxing. I am a person who is both playful and perfectionist. So, I had to know what role I will be playing as Raman – whether a boxer who is lean or who is hefty. I took a little time to adapt as Raman; and George Foreman is a heavy lift fighter and I had to look both as a heavy fighter but at the same time not look too hefty,” he said.

When questioned about him choosing any other role in the movie apart from Raman, he stated that he wanted to play the role of Dancing Rose. “I like to dance so when the role of Dancing rose was revealed, I wanted to do it. So in the workshop, it was at the time when the role was not fixed for any actor, I just picked up the script and did the dancing and fight movements that were assigned for Dancing Rose. So, one day when I was practicing, the assistant director recorded how I portrayed as Dancing Rose and played it to Ranjith sir and actually told him that I can play the role, but Ranjith sir was strong and determined that I suited the role of Raman very well. And, I am happy as well because the role actually clicked with me.”

The actor Santhosh Prathap further opened up about his experience working with director Ranjith. “He is not just a good director but a very good actor as well. I mean all directors have to act out the scene on the script but when Ranjith sir does it, it is so gripping and it looks like the character has come to life. Maybe soon he will debut as an actor I believe,” Santhosh said while concluding the interview.
