Ilaiyaraaja to Kamal Haasan: Stars who shared their thoughts on consecration of Ayodhya Ram Mandir

The consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya happened on January 22. With the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Pran Prathishtan of the Ram Lalla idol took place and it was celebrated like a festival all over the country. Many film dignitatries - Amitabh Bachchan, Abishek Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut, Anupam Kher, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ayushman Khuranna, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Rajinikanth and Dhanush attended the temple's consecration on Monday. Following the grand event, stars of Kollywood took to social media to share their thoughts!

Actress Revathi took to Instagram on January 23 to state that it was an unforgettable moment as Ayodhya Ram Mandir consecration happened. Her caption read. "Yesterday was an unforgettable day!!! I did not know there was this part of me that would feel the way it did when I saw Ram Lalla’s enticing face. Something stirred within me and felt extremely happy. It is strange that being born a Hindu we keep our beliefs to ourselves, try not to hurt other beliefs, we try to underplay… secular India is what we strongly feel and keep our religious beliefs personal. This is how it should be for all. The homecoming of Shri Ram has indeed changed things for many… we said it aloud, maybe for the first time that we are ‘believers’!!! Jai Shri Ram.”

The director speaking at the audio launch of his film 'Blue Star' on January 22 said that it has come to a point in India that one is considered a terrorists if they don't want to light camphor at their home. The director said that India is moving towards a dangerous future and there is a fear on what kind of India that everyone will be living in the next few years to come. Speaking about the audio launch happening on the same day of Ram Mandir consecration,the director sacastically called it a very important day.

After the consecration of Ayodhya Ram Mandir on January 22, speaking to the media, Kamal Haasan said that his thoughts are the same as it was 30 years ago. Reacting to the Pran Prathishthan, the actor said that his views has not changed from what he had 30 years ago. It is speculated that the actor is referring to his statement 'Ramar Aanalum Babar Aanalum, Sneham onu thaan'. In 1991, the actor said that he believes in people with the ideology of no religious differences.

Speaking at an event in Tamil Nadu, music composer Ialiyaraaja said that it fills his eyes when he talks about what PM Modi has accomplished. In a video that is circulatin online, Ilaiyaraaja speaking to the people, said, "The temple of Prabhu Shri Ram in Ayodhya fulfills the 500-year yearning of the masses, realized by our Hon PM @narendramodi." He also added that it is a historical moment in the world and compared PM Modi's thought of building a temple to how kings centuries ago built temples.

After the inaguration ceremony on January 22, actor Vishal took to social media to share his opinion. His tweet read, "Congrats dearest honourable prime minister Modi Saab on another great achievement and another feather in your cap, Jai Shri Ram. Ram mandir will be remembered for years and generations to come and a tribute to all those who laid their lives and sacrificed themselves for this great moment. Salute u. God Bless."
