Kamal Haasan and Shankar joined forces for 'Indian 2', a sequel to the 1996 Tamil blockbuster, and the highly anticipated sequel is set to have a pan-Indian release. After being in production for multiple years, 'India 2' makers have locked the film's release, and the film is slated to release in theatres on July 12. 'Indian 2' first single track was also unveiled by the makers, and the song composed by Anirudh Ravichander increased the buzz.

The 2024 February Malayalam release, 'Manjummel Boys' transformed into one of the biggest hits, and the film grossed over Rs 200 crore to become the highest-grossing Malayalam film. The Tamil song 'Kanmani Anbodu Kadhal' composed by Ilaiyaraaja from Guna was the major highlight of the film. But Ilaiyaraaja stood against the filmmakers for the song usage, and the composer sent a copyright notice to the makers.
