Is Rajinikanth part of 'Kantara' prequel? Rishab Shetty reacts

Rishab Shetty played the lead role in his own directorial 'Kantara' and the 2022 Kannada film turned into a massive hit. The original Kannada release was then dubbed and released in several Indian languages, and it made the film reach over Rs 400 crores at the box office globally. Following the success of 'Kantara', Rishab Shetty has planned to make 'Kantara 2' and the film's story will be a prequel to the earlier version. The pre-production work of the film is on and the film is expected to take off soon.

Meanwhile, Rishab Shetty was honored at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards in Mumbai recently and he bagged the 'Most Precious Actor' Award. During the event, he was questioned about Rajinikanth's participation in 'Kantara 2' , however Rishab refused to reveal details about the film.

Rajinikanth earlier rained praise for Rishab Shetty after watching 'Kantara' in a special screening and penned a congratulatory note for the actor on social media. Rishab Shetty then reached Chennai to meet Rajinikanth at the latter's house to take blessings of the veteran actor. Rajinikanth then felicitated Rishab Shetty by gifting him a gold chain & locket and spent some time with the actor.

So, there are chances of Rajinikanth being part of 'Kantara 2' and let's wait for Rishab Shetty to make it official once the director-actor completes the pre-production work for the film.
