The

Glenn Gould Prize

is an international award bestowed by the

Glenn Gould Foundation

in memory of Canadian pianist Glenn Gould. Now, the Glenn Gould Foundation has named an eclectic mix of judges for the thirteenth Glenn Gould Prize this year. Interestingly,

AR Rahman

has joined as a Jury member to select an individual who has earned international recognition as the result of a highly exceptional contribution to music and its communication, through the use of any communications technologies.

Topping off the list of 13 jury members is Grammy Award-winner Laurie Anderson, who will chair the jury panel for the first time. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the jury will convene virtually on October 14 to deliberate and select the laureate open to artists in music, theatre, writing, film, video, radio, television, recording, technology, architecture or design. The winner of the Prize will be announced at a livestream news conference on October 15 at Noon EDT.

The winner of the Glenn Gould Prize receives a cash award of $100,000, a Glenn Gould Prize statue by Canadian artist Ruth Abernethy, and a series of public events presented the following year.
