Producer and educationist Ishari Ganesh, who recently contested in the Nadigar Sangam polls apologized to the Madras High Court for trying to influence the elections. Ishari Ganesh had contested for the post of General Secretary as part of Bhagyaraj’s Swami Sankaradas Ani. He was pitted against actor Vishal. The elections were held on June 23.
The issue began when Justice Anand Venkatraman filed a suo moto contempt proceedings against Ganesh and advocate Anantharaman, saying the duo had tried to influence the judge.
Ganesh wanted to postpone the elections and to make that happen, he had asked his friend to talk to the judge. Ganesh then tendered an apology to the Madras High Court and came forward to contribute Rs 10 lakh to the Legal Services Authority. The money will now be used for the welfare of transgender people and abandoned children. The results for the election have not been announced yet.
