This Deepavali is extra special for young Kollywood jodis — Ashok Selvan-Keerthi Pandian, and Harish Kalyan-Narmada. The couples share what the festival means to them this year
We’re going back to the place where we got married to celebrate the festival: Ashok Selvan and Keerthi Pandian
Ashok Selvan: We are all planning to go to Keerthi’s farmhouse in Tirunelveli for our Thala Deepavali celebration. Both sides of the family will be joining together for the festival.
Keerthi Pandian: We were on our honeymoon since November 2, in Europe, and visited Paris, Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland. We will be heading to Tirunelveli to celebrate our Thala Deepavali today. We are going back to the place where we got married, and we are so excited.
Deepavali is special because the first time I met Ashok was at a Deepavali party. Now, exactly a decade later, we are going to celebrate our Thala Deepavali together!

Harish Kalyan: This Deepavali is very special because both our families will be coming together to celebrate it. We will be visiting each others’ homes. It’s our Tamil culture, just like taking an oil bath and donning a new attire. This time, we both have a new family to celebrate the festival with, so celebrating together will be special.
Narmada: Deepavali has always been about family and friends. This year, it is even more special because our family and friends circle has grown bigger. What I think is super special is that, both our families value traditions a lot, and follow the rituals together.
