Jackie Shroff plays the antagonist in CV Kumar's Maayavan

Producer CV Kumar, who is making his directorial debut with Maayavan, has roped in Jackie Shroff to play the antagonist in the film, which stars Sundeep Kishan and Regina Cassandra in the lead. 'It is a very powerful role and we felt that a person of Jackie Shroff's stature was required to pull it off. We met the actor in Mumbai last week and after hearing the narration, he immediately agreed because his character is very crucial to the plot,' says Kumar.

This will be Jackie Shroff's third Tamil film after Aaranya Kandam and Kochadaiyaan. The actor, who played an aging gangster in his Tamil debut, will be seen in 'a don-like character' in this film and will also have action scenes. He will start shooting for his scenes during the film's next schedule, which begins on April 4 in Chennai.
