'Jana Nayagan' director H Vinoth turns emotional over the lack of support amid the delay of the Vijay starrer: 'If I speak..'
Fans of Vijay are heartbroken as the release of 'Jana Nayagan' continues to be delayed, and the uncertainty has triggered an emotional response from director H. Vinoth. The film, originally planned for a January release, is still waiting for its censor certificate, and new reports suggest that even an April release looks unlikely.
Reacting to the situation, Vinoth expressed his frustration at a public event, saying that when controversies arise around certain films, many people support them, but “if I speak, there will be no one to come and save me,” revealing the emotional pressure he is under.
Vinoth made his statement after watching 'My Lord', starring Sasikumar and directed by Raju Murugan. He pointed out that the film boldly addresses strong political and social issues and many senior journalists and public voices have come forward to defend and support it. He praised how the film and its lead character faced criticism but still received backing from various sections. In contrast, he said that in his case he feels isolated and cannot expect similar support if he openly speaks about his problems.
'My Lord', which released on February 13, has been receiving positive responses for talking about issues that common people face, including hospital struggles and sensitive social crimes. The strong appreciation and open support for that film made Vinoth’s words sound even more painful, as he indirectly highlighted the difference in how filmmakers are treated during controversies. The delay and the poignant statement from the ‘Jana Nayagan’ director are now major talking points. Since the film is so important to both Vijay and Vinoth, it speaks volumes about support in the industry, not just about a release.
'Jana Nayagan', considered Vijay’s last film before his full-time political journey with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, was initially scheduled for a January 9 release. However, the film ran into censor-related issues, forcing the makers to send it for re-examination. The team had hoped to get the certificate and release the film by the end of February. But a fresh update from an overseas distributor, York Cinemas in Canada, stated that the film will not be released even on April 30, leaving fans deeply disappointed and worried about further delays. On the other hand, Vijay was last seen in Venkat Prabhu's action flick 'GOAT' which received mixed reviews from the audiences. Vijay also teamed up with Lokesh Kanagaraj for 'Leo'. Joseph Vijay's uncouth fans are responsible for this. Nobody likes them. Many secretly wanted this to happen because the actor never told his fans to not verbally abuse his critics or fans of other actors. I think a female movie critic was subject to extreme verbal abuse when she reviewed his movie called sura. She even questioned why he didn't tell his fans to behave.Read allPost comment
