Jayam Ravi's 'Genie' earns over Rs 60 crore in pre-release business: Report

Jayam Ravi is one of the versatile actors in Tamil cinema, and he has busy days ahead with multiple releases. Even though Jayam Ravi hasn't sported different kinds of looks for his films, he chooses different genres to bring out versatility in himself. Up next, Jayam Ravi has teamed up with director Arjunan for the fantasy film titled 'Genie', and the film's final leg of shooting is currently ongoing.

As the film nears completion, the makers have begun the film's pre-sales business, and 'Genie' has reportedly earned over Rs 60 crores excluding theatrical rights. The theatrical rights of the film are expected to add more profits and the exhibitors' interest has increased the buzz for the film.

'Genie' first look and second look were unveiled by the makers recently, and they gained a lot of praise from fans. Jayam Ravi was spotted sporting a typical look in the first look poster, while the second poster focused on the film's female leads Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Wamiqa Gabbi. AR Rahman is scoring the music for the film, and the makers aim to give 'Genie' a grand theatrical release as it marks their 25th production venture.

Jayam Ravi recently opted out from Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam's 'Thug Life' due to a delay in the film's shooting process, and he has become the second actor after Dulquer Salman exited the high-budget film.
