After the 2011 epic warrior movie 'Urumi',
Prithviraj Sukumaran is all set to ignite the screens with yet another Malabar-based warrior character 'Kaaliyan' which is expected to be released later this year.
The motion poster of 'Kaliyaan' that released on Youtube and Twitter yesterday has already received massive appreciation from film lovers and Prithviraj fans alike.
According to reports, Prithviraj will play the forgotten warrior named 'Kaaliyan', a close associate of Iravikutty Pillai- the army chief from Venad region.
The motion poster has disclosed that the movie is inspired by the ballads appraising the heroism of warriors from Venad, thus putting an end the speculations about the film's theme.
Resembling the character Chirakkal Kelu from 'Urumi', Prithvi seems to have built on his physique for 'Kaaliyan'. The long tresses and daring eyes from the motion poster is also relatable to 'Kelu' from 'Urumi', but the long grown beard in 'Kaaliyan' which was absent in 'Urumi' adds to the manliness of 'Kaaliyan'. From whatever the motion poster has revealed so far, fans can expect a heart-thumping revenge story and an iconic character in 'Kaaliyaan'.
If Kelu in 'Urumi' fought against the merciless Vasco Da Gama, 'Kaaliyan' will be taking on 'Naikar' as understood from the motion poster.
"History forgot him..the ballads sing of him. He took on the mightiest with the power of one..the power of self. For honour, teacher and country.. #KAALIYAN!", posted Prithviraj on his official Twitter handle.
The motion poster stretching for a minute and 50 seconds has all the necessary ingredients to make any movie lover waiting for 'Kaaliyan', be it Prithvi's overpowering voice over, Anil Kaduva's intriguing theme music or the heart thumping visual effects.
Directed by S Mahesh and scripted by BT Anil Kumar, Prithviraj's 'Kaaliyan' is expected to be a box office hit and a new feather in the cap for this versatile actor.
