Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón, who has five Academy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards to his credit, was in Chennai. Pictures of Kamal and the filmmaker, who has helmed acclaimed films like Gravity, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Roma, have gone viral on social media.
The former’s manager confirmed that the meeting happened in Chennai, at Kamal’s office, but refrained from sharing other details. A source also tells us that after their initial meetup, Kamal had also host ed a lunch for Alfonso at a star hotel in the city. Kamal Haasan had apparently shown his work of his long delayed dream project 'Marudhanayagam'.
Sharing picture of his meeting with Alfonso Cuaron, Kamal Haasan wrote, "Met Mr.Alfonso Cuaron my brethren and an offspring from the same mother “cinema “We spoke cinema ,cinema and more cinema .I shared my joy over lunch along with the seasons mangoes and some of my fraternity Mr.Maniratnam, Mr.A.R.Rahman, Mr.Ravi K Chandran, Mr. Mahendran, Mr. Narayanan, Ms.Aditi Rao Hydari, Mr.Siddharth and Ms.Amritha. “Alfonso meets Banganapalli “quipped Mr.Siddharth."
Cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, who is currently working on Kamal’s Thug Life was also at the meeting. Posting a pic on Insta, he wrote, “Thanks @ikamalhaasan for this great opportunity to meet & have insightful fun conversation with this Oscar winner.. director/cinematographer The maestro @alfonsocuaron blessed (sic).”
Reposting Kamal Haasan's post, Aditi Rao wrote, "Thank you Kamal sir and thank you universe! ��"
