Kollywood actors have been exceptional as bankable actors and the films have been making milestone records at the box office in the last 3 years. However, a few films did not do as expected for certain actors and here's a list of stars who had a perfect blockbuster followed by a film that did not do good as expected.

Actor Simbu's 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' was released in 2022 and the film directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon marked a perfect comeback for the actor on bigscreens after a long hiatus and his film 'Pathu Thala' that was released after 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' did not do as expected. The film though became a commercial success, it is not one of the best works of Simbu.

Actor Karthi's 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' and 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' made a great success at the box office last year. However, his film 'Japan' that marked his 25thr film did not do as expected in the box office.

Actor Jayam Ravi's 'Ponnyin Selvan 1' was released in 2022 and 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' was released in 2023, and the films were a blockbuster at the box office and it made moe than Rs 1000 crore at the box office put together. However, the actor's next 'Siren' and 'Iraivan' that were released in theatres later that year did not do well at the box office.

Actor Kamal Haasan in 2022, acted in the film 'Vikram' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe and it made more than Rs 500 crore at the box office. However,the actor's 'Indian 2' is a sequel to the 1996 classic but the film was not well received after its release in theatres on July 12.
