Kamal Haasan on his role in 'Kalki 2898 AD': I always wanted to be a badman

'Kalki 2898 AD' is going to be one of the important upcoming films to watch out for, and the film is scheduled to release in theaters on June 27. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the periodic science fiction drama features Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan in the main roles, and the expectations for the film are high. The 'Kalki 2898 AD' team addressed the press and media at a pre-release event that happened in Mumbai yesterday (Jun 19), and they shared some insights about the film. Kamal Haasan also made his presence at the event along with Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone, and the veteran actor shared his experience working for the film.

Speaking about his character, Kamal Haasan said that he always wanted to play a badman character in the film, as the badman used to do good things in films where the heroes were singing romantic songs and waiting for the heroine. But a badman can go and do whatever he wants, and he is going to be the badman of 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Kamal Haasan further shared his praise for 'Kalki 2898 AD' director Nag Ashwin and said that it is ordinary-looking people who will end up doing extraordinary things. To add an example to it, Kamal Haasan remembered the late director K Balachander, as he looked like a government officer, and he produced some quality films.

Kamal Haasan then expressed his happiness at being part of 'Kalki 2898 AD', and said that many couldn't believe that he was playing a vital role in Nag Ashwin's directorial. Recently, Prabhas also thanked Kamal Haasan by holding the senior's hand and said he couldn’t believe till today that he is part of 'Kalki 2898 AD'.
