Kamal Haasan remembers K Balachander on his birth anniversary

Actor Kamal Haasan paid a tribute to his mentor and multiple National Film Award-winning Tamil director K Balachander, remembering the late director on his 91st birth anniversary. The veteran filmmaker had passed away in 2014.
Kamal Haasan has collaborated with K Balachander in numerous acclaimed films including 'Apoorva Raagangal' (1975), 'Moondru Mudichu' (1976), Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981) and 'Punnagai Mannan' (1986), among others.
Sharing an old photo of himself with director K Balachander, Kamal Haasan posted in Tamil, which translated to, "My teacher KB has made his mark in all genres of cinema. I got acquainted with him when I was 16 years old. This is the golden year for our Guru-disciple relationship. I remember Amar K. Balachander on his 91st birthday."

Interestingly, K Balachander's final film was with Kamal Haasan in 'Uthama Villain', where he played a filmmaker and mentor to Kamal's character in the film as well. The veteran filmmaker has over 150 films to his credit including path breaking ones like Aval Oru Thodar Kathai, Avargal, Varumayin Niram Sivappu and 47 Natkal among many others.
