Karthi to shoot for a new film with director Prem Kumar after 'Japan'

Actor Karthi was last seen in the film ‘Sardar’ in 2022 which was a super hit and made a box office collection of more than Rs 100 crore. It is now reportedly stated that Karthi will be signing up for a new movie with director Prem Kumar who directed the Tamil romantic drama ‘96’ featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha.

Reportedly, the movie is said to be produced by Karthi’s brother Suriya’s home banner and it is likely that the shooting for the movie will begin right after the actor completes shooting for his 25th film titled ‘Japan’. The official announcement is yet to be made.

Directed by Raju Murugan, ‘Japan’ marks the 25th film of the actor. It is stated that Karthi will shoot for his new untitled film with Prem Kumar after completing the shoot for ‘Japan’. On the work front, Karthi also has a few projects in the pipeline that include ‘Kaithi 2’ with Lokesh Kanagaraj and a yet-to-be-titled film with ‘Soodhu Kavvum’ director Nalan Kumarasamy.

Karthi is also awaiting the release of his film ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ directed by Mani Ratnam which is a sequel. The movie is set to release in theatres on April 28.
