Karthik Kumar files a defamation case against his ex-wife Suchitra for a gay remark

Playback singer and RJ Suchitra recently came into the light of the media after she gave a video interview to a regional Tamil YouTube channel. Speaking at the interview, Suchithra claimed that her ex-husband, Karthik Kumar, an actor and stand-up comedian, is gay. She even explained in detail that she had doubts about him and actor Dhanush when they acted together in the film 'Yaaradi Nee Mohini'.


Now, in a formal legal notice sent by Karthik Kumar, he demands Suchitra stop any defamatory remarks against him in any interviews. The actor has asked for a legal remedy to protect himself and his repetition without causing any public damage because of Suchitra's statements.

The serious allegations made by Suchitra against her ex-husband Karthik Kumar and many more in the film industry, including Kamal Haasan, Dhanush, Trisha, Aishwarya Dhanush, and Andrea, gained a lot of attention. Karthik Kumar, who has now retired from his acting career, took to social media to share a video in which he stated that he would proudly accept and be open if he were homosexual and added that there was no need for him to hide it. He also sent a legal notice to his ex-wife, Suchitra, and the YouTube channel that posted the video for defamation and demanded immediate termination.
