Karthik Kumar's Rs 1 crore defamation case against ex-wife Suchitra: here is the court's latest order

Karthik Kumar's ex-wife, Suchitra, made a derogatory comment against the actor recently, and the latter claimed her ex-husband was gay. But Karthik Kumar condemned Suchitra for making false allegations against him, and he filed a defamation suit against his ex-wife as well. In filing a defamation case against Suchitra, Karthik Kumar claimed Rs 1 crore in compensation from his ex-wife for causing damage to his fame. The defamation case filed by Karthik Kumar came for a hearing at the Madras High Court yesterday (May 24), and the judge issued an interim ban to Suchitra for commenting about her ex-husband Karthik Kumar. The next hearing of the case has been scheduled to happen on July 1, and we have to wait to see whether Karthik Kumar will get his Rs 1 crore claim or not.

Actor Karthik Kumar married singer Suchitra in 2005, but the couple broke up after 12 years of marriage in 2017 after the singer made some controversial statements about Kollywood stars. Karthik Kumar then legally divorced Suchitra, blaming her mental stability. Karthik Kumar then married notable actress Amrutha Srinivasan in 2021 and has been having a peaceful life. Karthik Kumar hasn't been seen on big screens often in movies for over a decade, and he last played a chef in the Nayanthara starrer 'Annapoorani'.

In the recent controversial statement against Karthik Kumar, Suchitra also stood against several cinema stars, including Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth.
