Karthik takes on Jigarthanda producer

Director Karthik Subbaraj is upset with Kathiresan, the producer of Jigarthanda, after the later sold the film���s Hindi remake rights for a huge amount to Bollywood producer Sajid Nadiadwala. A trustworthy source close to Karthik tells us that the director was not even kept in the loop by the producer regarding this development. The source elaborates, ���Karthik actually owns 40 per cent of the film���s remake rights but was not involved in the process of selling the rights of the film.In fact, Kathiresan did not even inform him about the decision to sell the film to Sajid.���
Now, Karthik has filed a complaint with the Directors��� Union against the producer. While Karthik preferred to not talk about this issue, Kathiresan was not available for comment despite repeated attempts.
It is to be noted that things were not well between the producer and the director even at the time of the film���s release. The reason alleged at that time was that the producer had tried to force Karthik into cutting the film so that it received a U certificate for tax exemption purposes. However, Karthik stood his ground and the film was eventually released with a UA certificate.
