Keerthy clashes with Mysskin in a fight for justice in this legal thriller
Keerthy Suresh will play a junior advocate facing off against her senior, played by Mysskin , in the courtroom thriller Sathyavan Savithiri.
Director Praveen S Vijaay says, “There is a difference between justice and law. The film is about a wife, Savithiri, a lawyer who gets involved in her husband’s case. She fights for justice, while, for her senior, the law is more important. And then, circumstances lead her to square up against him.” Heart Beat fame Charukesh plays Keerthy’s husband.
Praveen says he asked his actors to simply be themselves. “I told Mysskin sir to think of himself as an advocate instead of a director and act how he would in real life. The same goes for Keerthy ma’am. I told her not to set any character in her mind.”
He says that Aishwarya Rajesh played a crucial role in pushing the project forward. “I narrated the story to her, and mentioned that I wanted to mount it as a big-budget film. She then suggested I pitch it to Keerthy ma’am, to whom I had been trying to narrate this story for nearly six years. It was Aishwarya ma’am who helped streamline the process.”
Praveen says his experience working as a co-director and dialogue writer on Gargi helped him in staging the courtroom scenes.
“I attended court sessions daily for about 20 days for the film . That experience was really helpful. But this film has a commercial metre and thus won’t depict a raw courtroom.”
I wanted to name the film Savithiri: Praveen S VijaayThe director initially wanted to name the film Savithiri . “A reason we didn’t keep that title is because Keerthy ma’am has played actress Savitri in Nadigaiyar Thilagam . So, we did not want people to get confused and think of this film as a sequel to that one.”Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
