Actor Daniel Balaji, known for his roles in Gautham Menon’s ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ and Vetri Maaran's 'Polladhavan', passed away on March 29 due to a cardiac arrest. The entrie film fraternity is in shock to his sudden demise. Directors Gautham Menon, Vetrimaaran and Ameer were among the first of the celebrities to pay their last respects to Daniel Balaji, who passed away from a heart attack.
Kamal Haasan wrote in Tamil, which translates to, "The sudden death of brother Daniel Balaji is shocking. The agony of young deaths is great. My condolences to Balaji's family, friends and fans. He will live even after his death by donating his eyes. My tribute to Balaji who has given light."
Atharvaa wrote, "It’s one of those days when you understand that “only” time and people we hitch ourselves through life matters the most. I Wish we got to spend more time together. REST IN PEACE Balaji Chithappa. "
Actress Radikaa wrote, "Unbelievable! Daniel Balaji is a talented actor who made his debut in our Radaan 'Chithi' serial. Despite acting in a negative role in 'Chithi', he got huge popularity. He is a wonderful person. His death saddens me. May his soul rest in peace."

Actor turned politician Sarath Kumar wrote, "The news of the death of Daniel Balaji, fondly known as Daniel Balaji, who made his debut as an actor in Tamil through the 'Chithi' serial, and who is seen as the best villain in Tamil cinema, was admitted to a private hospital in Kottivak due to a sudden heart attack. I pray for the peace of the soul of Daniel Balaji who passed away at a young age. My deepest condolences to his family, Tamil film industry and fans. #RIPDanielBalaji"
