The film is jointly produced by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan, Nazriya Nazim and Syam Pushkaran. Pushkaran, inspired from his memoirs during a visit to Kumbalangi, a fishing village in Kochi penned the screenplay. The film marks the directorial debut of Narayanan.
