The Tamil cinema industry has never put a barrier and has always been welcoming to artists and performers of various languages from different parts of the country. Many artists from other states have flourished their career in the Tamil movie industry and are on top of the pyramid. Here is a list of actresses who are leading currently but are hailing from different states in India.

Nayanthara or as referred to as ‘Lady Superstar’ of Tamil cinema is one of the talented artists who has been in the industry for over a decade. She hails from Kerala. Nayanthara made her debut in 2006 with the film ‘Ayya’ starring alongside Sarathkumar and has now acted alongside Rajinikanth, Vijay, Ajith, Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi. She has even made a name for herself by acting in the solo lead role in the movies ‘Aram’ and ‘Netrikann’.

Rashmika Mandanna is from Karnataka and she made her debut in Tamil cinema with the movie ‘Sultan’ in 2021 alongside Karthi. She has impressed the audiences and also has her own fans from Tamil Nadu even before she made her debut in Tamil. Her Telugu movie ‘Geetha Govindam’ fetched her fame and fans in Tamil Nadu.

Kalyani Priyadarshan made her debut in Tamil cinema with the film ‘Hero’ starring alongside Sivakarthikeyan. She is from Kerala and also the daughter of Malayalam director Priyadarshan and actress Lissy. Kalyani’s fame rose in Tamil Nadu after starring in Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Maanaadu’ alongside Simbu.

Malavika Mohanan made her debut in Tamil cinema with Rajini’s ‘Petta’ in 2019. She then took the role of female lead in Vijay’s ‘Master’ and rose to fame. She will be next seen in ‘Maaran’ starring alongside Dhanush. Malavika hails from Kerala and is the daughter of cinematographer KU Mohanan.
