Story and critical response for 'LIK'
Set in 2040, the film explores whether technology can replace genuine emotions in love. Pradeep Ranganathan plays Vibe Vassey, who challenges the dating app LIK created by S. J. Suryah.
ETimes review for the film reads, "Set in 2040, Vignesh Shivan’s Love Insurance Kompany grapples with a question that feels strikingly contemporary: can technology truly map something as unpredictable and deeply felt as love? Despite its sci-fi trappings, LIK is essentially an old-school romance between two people who have been shaped by opposing belief systems. The film unfolds in a vividly imagined, tech-driven Chennai, with confident world-building that lends the story a glossy, futuristic sheen (a smart effort from DoP Ravi Varman, production designer Muthuraj and the VFX team), and a soundtrack (by Anirudh) that makes it breezy and youthful."
'LIK: Love Insurance Kompany' is written and directed by Vignesh Shivan. The film stars Pradeep Ranganathan, S. J. Suryah and Krithi Shetty in lead roles, with Yogi Babu, Seeman, Gouri G Kishan and others in supporting parts. Music is by Anirudh Ravichander, and the film was shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.
Meanwhile, Pradeep Ranganathan was last seen in the comedy entertainer 'Dude'. The movie which had Mamitha Baiju in the female lead, did a decent box office business. Pradeep Ranganathan's 'Dragon' was also a success.
