The Vijay-starrer is set to storm the big screens on October 19, and the excitement for the film is mounting high as it steps closer to its release. The makers have been battling hard to make the film get special early morning shows in Tamil Nadu, for which they also filed a petition in court yesterday (Oct. 16). The special case filed by the 'Leo' team was heard this morning, and the judge has denied permission for the film to have special morning shows.
'Leo' makers have requested the Tamil Nadu government permit six shows for the Vijay starrer for the first six days. However, the government permitted only five shows, with the first show starting at 9 a.m. in the state. This disappointed the makers as the film will be starting earlier in locations other than Tamil Nadu, and they wish to see the home state fans watch the film as early as possible. So, they approached the Madras High Court against the government and requested special morning shows.
After hearing the statement from both sides, the judge has denied 'Leo' the right to have early morning shows in Tamil Nadu. The honourable Madras High Court judge Anita Sumanth, who heard the case, has left the matter to the Tamil Nadu government to reconsider the issue of allowing shows from 7 a.m. for the first six days (Oct. 19 to 24). 'Leo' makers and representatives of the Tamil Nadu Theatre Association will appear before the Tamil Nadu government officials today (Oct. 17) evening to discuss further on the early morning show for Vijay's film. So the mystery over the FDFS timing of 'Leo' in Tamil Nadu continues as the makers turn once again towards the government for permission on special morning shows.
It will be a never-before character for Vijay in 'Leo', which is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and the pan-Indian drama also involves several popular faces in crucial roles. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music, and the film's final copy is ready and delivered to theatres across locations.
