'Madraskaaran' OTT release date: When and where to watch Shani Nigam's Tamil debut

'Madraskaaran,' starring Shane Nigam, hit theaters on January 10, coinciding with the Pongal and Sankranti festivities. Despite its promising premise, the film received mixed reviews and failed to meet box office expectations. However, fans who missed the theatrical release can now catch the film on Aha Tamil, as the OTT platform announced its digital premiere on February 7. Sharing the news on X, the platform wrote, "Makkkale oru arumaiyana action block maatirku. #madraskaaran from Feb 7 only on #ahaTamil."

The film follows Sathya (Sathyamoorthy), an engineer-turned-farmer who lives a serene life in Kovilpatti with his father and wife, Meera. His peaceful existence is disrupted when he is attacked by a group of unknown assailants, leading him to uncover a vendetta orchestrated by a powerful enemy, Singam. As Sathya unravels the motives behind the attack, the narrative becomes a gripping tale of survival and the fight to protect his family from an ominous threat.

Directed and written by Vaali Mohan Das, Prasanna S. Kumar's cinematography and R. Vasanthakumar's editing complement 'Madraskaaran,' while Sam CS’s music adds intensity to the film. Shane Nigam made his Tamil cinema debut as the lead, while Kalaiyarasan portrays the antagonist, Singam. Niharika Konidela stars as Meera, Sathya's wife, marking her second Tamil film after 'Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren' opposite Gautham Karthik. The supporting cast includes Deepa Shankar, Karunas, Pandiarajan, Aishwarya Dutta, Geetha Kailasam, Super Subbarayan, Lallu, and Udayaraj.

With its upcoming OTT release, Madraskaaran offers viewers a second chance to experience this action-packed drama and appreciate Shane Nigam’s Tamil debut.
