Sai Pallavi will be seen together on screen in an upcoming project with veteran filmmaker
Mani Ratnam in the director’s chair. Now, as per the latest updates, the film is expected to begin shooting in June this year after the maker announced the film on March 20, 2026.
When will the shoot begin?
As per a post by trade tracked Mukil Vardhanan on X (formerly Twitter), a small promo shoot will happen in April. This will give fans a first look at the film. The movie is said to take relatively less time to film. It may finish shooting in around 40 days. It is imperative to mention that makers have not officially confirmed these details.
Music and production details of the film
The film is being made under Madras Talkies. It is currently called ‘Production No. 23’. The tunes will be handled by musical genius A. R. Rahman. There were some talks earlier that someone else might do the music. But now it is clear Rahman is part of the film. Reportedly, he has already finished composing two songs, and work on the rest of the soundtrack is still going on.

Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam last directed Kamal Haasan starrer ‘Thug Life’, released in 2025, which received mixed reviews.
On the other hand, Vijay Sethupathi has many films lined up. He will next be seen in ‘Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road’. This film is directed by Puri Jagannadh, and it also features Tabu, Samyukhta, Duniya Vijay Kumar, Brahmanandam, and VTV Ganesh, among others. Apart from this, he will appear in ‘Jailer 2’ with Rajinikanth.
and it is also part of ‘Arasan’, directed by Vetrimaaran, where he plays a police officer.
Sai Pallavi also has big films coming. She will be seen in 'Ek Din' with Junaid Khan. The film is set to release on May 1, 2026.
She also plays Sita opposite Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s grand epic ‘Ramayana’ set for a Diwali release.
