After debuting with a heavy-duty film like
Marina Puratchi
last year,
Shruti Reddy has signed on for two more films in Kollywood. One of them is with
Rajkumar (of Annanukku Jai fame).
“We have already shot for 30 days for the film. It’s a romantic entertainer, but has comedy as an integral element. It’s a typical Rajkumar sir kind of film. Like my first film, there’s a strong jallikattu emotion associated with this one, too,” begins the actress, “My other film is with director R Durai, who has assisted Sundar C sir earlier. I can’t reveal anything else now.”
An MBA graduate, Shruti has always wanted to be an actor. “I’ve done an acting course in Mumbai,” she says with a smile, “When I was doing my MBA in Chennai, I used to do a lot of modelling assignments. I then started working with a firm. It’s during that time that I met Pandiraj sir through a contact. MS Raj, director of Marina Puratchi, was an associate of his, and he passed my profile to him. That’s how I landed my first film.”
Interestingly, Shruti is also a motivational speaker. “I’ve my own organisation, and through that, I deliver speeches on mental health and well-being at colleges in Chennai and Andhra Pradesh. I also coach employees. I find it very satisfying,” she beams.
