Meera Mitun tells us why she is so choosy about the roles she picks

Meera Mitun, who was last seen in Thaanaa Serndha Koottam as Kalaiyarasan’s wife, has joined the cast of Chandru’s

Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari

. The actor will be seen playing an important role in the film.

An elated Meera says, “I have a rather critical role in this film. Though I am not allowed to reveal a lot of details, I can say that my character sets the story rolling in the film. I play a working professional and my role goes through various stages as the story unfolds, which makes it an interesting one. I have finished shooting my portions and have even dubbed for my character. The story throws light on today’s generation and an issue they deal with.”

After proving her mettle in 8 Thottakkal, Meera says that she’s keen on taking up films that prove her acting prowess. “8 Thottakkal showed the world and the audiences that I can perform. Even though Thaanaa Serndha Koottam saw me in a small role, my character goes through several emotions and my role and acting skills were appreciated. So, post that, I’ve been careful about choosing scripts. I want my roles to create an impact among audiences. Today, there is no concept of hero-heroine. The script is the hero and all of us together add to the story. I am happy to play glam roles, and even take up characters that make a mark in the film. In fact, for me, the screen time doesn’t even matter. As long as my role is well-written and portrayed well on the screen, I am OK,” she smiles.

Meera has a couple of projects in hand and is busy shooting. “I can’t reveal what it is at the moment, as I am awaiting the official announcement. A couple of upcoming projects will see me in different genres and roles and I can’t wait to talk about them,” she signs off.
