Every year, July 29 is observed as the
International Tiger Day
. The day is meant to create awareness about tiger conservation. And social media is flooded with messages on tiger conservation by
tiger enthusiasts
and wildlife conservationists. Many of our celebs, too, are tiger enthusiasts. Today, some of them have shared messages on tiger conservation on their social media pages.
Kollywood
actor Metro Shirish on social media wrote, "
Tigers
have a special place on the planet and a very special place in my heart. It’s time we listen to the majestic wild cats scream for help and act on it. Their survival is in our hands. #internationaltigerday (sic)."
We have several Kollywood celebs who love tigers. Aathmika and Malavika Mohanan had gone for
tiger safari
in Ranthambore National Park earlier this year. Sharing about her experience, Malavika, on her social media, had shared, "The Royal Bengal Tiger♥️ It was such an overwhelming experience to see this majestic animal in its natural habitat and up so close. Such an amazing welcome back to the forest after a whole year♥️ #Ranthambore #Wildlifebaby (sic)."
Whereas, Aathmika in an interaction with us had told us,"I have always been fascinated by wildlife, especially tigers. So, when I had an opportunity to take off for a few days, I chose to head to the Ranthambore National Park. I spotted a tiger, a tigress actually, on Day 2 of my safari, and I was lucky enough to see our national animal at least once on this trip. She was sitting quietly in the bushes. We were about to witness a hunting moment of sorts. I learnt that other animals give an alarm call when they spot tigers."
