Only recently, Superstar Rajinikanth's Baba, which originally released in 2002, was remastered and re-released worldwide as part of his birthday celebrations. And now, one of Puratchi Thalaivar MGR's films is getting a re-release.

Sirithu Vaazha Vendum starred MGR in dual roles and became a huge hit when it was released in 1974. Directed by SS Balan, the son of legendary producer and director SS Vasan, the film had Latha pair opposite MGR as the female lead. "Work is underway on the film, which has been digitised using modern technology, so that it can be ready for release on January 17, commemorating the birth anniversary of MGR," a press statement from the makers informs.

Apart from MGR and Latha, the film also featured MN Nambiar, Manohar, Thengai Srinivasan, Ishari Velan, SV Ramadoss, VS Raghavan, and L Kanchana in supporting roles. The songs were written by Vaali and Pulamaipitthan and the music was composed by Mellisai Mannar MS Viswanathan.

Pulamaipitthan wrote the song 'Ulagam Ennum' and singers, Sheikh Salamat and TM Soundararajan, had lent their voices to the song. The songs 'Ennathil Nalamirundhal' and 'Ondre Solvaan Nandre Seivaan' were chartbusters. 'Ponmana Semmalai Punpada Seidhathu Yaaro' is another song that received a huge response from the fans and audience.
