Govindarajan sitting together in a traditional home set-up, is out. Directed by Kavin Moorthy K, the film is billed as a commercial entertainer, which will have elements of romance, sentiment, action and comedy. Mugen and Meenakshi play college students in the film, which is bankrolled by Kalaimagan.

Says Kavin, “And to perfect the role as a college student, Mugen has lost a lot of weight. He was quite muscular and had to knock off a few kilos to fit the role of a student. Mugen also attended a workshop to ace the slang and body language of a

Pollachi

boy. Since he’s from Malaysia, he has a heavy Malaysian-Tamil accent. Apart from the workshop, our driver from the set helped him with the slang. Since I also hail from that side of Tamil Nadu, I was also able to guide him with the Pollachi modulation.”

The film also stars Soori, Prabhu, Thambi Ramaiah and Hareesh Peradi in important roles. Kavin says, “Prabhu plays Mugen’s father and the film also delves into their relationship. In fact, the interval block, a thiruvizha setup, is an important junction that will showcase the emotional side of the two. Both Prabhu and Mugen bonded really well on the set. In fact, Prabhu gave him plenty of suggestions and advice.”

The director says that Mugen has performed really well in the film. He says, “Even though this is his debut film, Mugen has done a great job, balancing the emotional portions and the humour portions well. Soori, too, has gone an extra mile to play a character that is inspired from Mammootty.”
