Vijay Antony and Mirnalini Ravi will lead Vinayak Vaithianathan’s directorial debut, Romeo. Talking about the film, Vinayak says, “As it’s a romantic movie, the story will be told from the perspectives of both the leads. While Vijay Antony’s character, Arivu, will be a businessman, Mirnalini’s role, Leela will be a suspense. The film will be presented not as a romcom but as a grand romantic drama.”
About the title, he says, “Romeo is not a character in the film; it’s basically the essence of the film.”
The director informs that the team took almost a year to zero in on the female lead. “But once we saw Mirnalini’s picture on social media, we knew she was our heroine,” he adds.
Ilavarasu, Thalaivasal Vijay, Sudha and Sreeja Ravi will be playing the parents of the leads. VTV Ganesh and Yogi Babu are also part of the cast. “They aren’t just playing comic roles; their characters will be important to the narrative,” he assures.
Farook J Basha has shot the film, which has music by Barath Dhanasekar.
