Apart from wowing the audience with his acting and dancing skills,
Nakkhul is also known for his playback singing. The actor, who has rendered several numbers in the past, including Kadhal Yaanai (Anniyan), X Machi (Ghajini) and Naakka Mukka (Kadhalil Vizhunthen), is now back behind the mic again. Nakkhul recently recorded a song for one of his upcoming films, which will be directed by
Satusan Mangalarajah
. The crime thriller, which also stars Prathap Pothen and Manikandan Achari, has music by FIR composer
Ashwath
.
Speaking to us after recording the song, Nakkhul said, “I’m very happy to return to playback after a while and it was a satisfactory experience to have sung this track by Ashwath. It's a peppy number, but has a bit of melody as well. I can't wait for you all to listen to the song.”
Nakkhul had last sung for his Boys co-star Thaman in Parthiban’s Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam, in 2014. The lyrics of this song have been penned by Niranjan Bharathi.
“I had messaged Nakkhul and expressed to him that it would be apt if he could sing the song. He readily agreed, but said I should go with his voice only if he did full justice to the song. Well, the number has come out really well,” said Ashwath.
The team is finalising the rest of the cast and crew, and will announce the project officially soon.
