Nayanthara’s horror thriller

Kolaiyuthir Kaalam

was set to release on June 14, which set up a clash between Kolaiyuthir Kaalam and Game Over, two thriller films taking on each other at the box office. Though, Taapsee Pannu’s Game Over has already garnered great reviews among critics from the media show, Kolaiyuthir Kaalam has run into trouble and might not even release this week.

The film is currently facing a legal issue. Director Balaji Kumar (director of Vidiyum Munn) had filed a petition in the Madras high court few days earlier that he holds rights of the title of the film and it is the title of author Sujatha’s novel. He claimed that he had bought the rights to the novel and the title for an amount of Rs. 10 lakhs. Madras Court has granted interim injunction on the film’s release on Tuesday and has asked the producers to respond by June 21.

However, the film’s producer

Mathiyalagan

talking to a news website has claimed that he has already registered the title of the film with TFPC (Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council). He has also said that the film is not based on author Sujatha’s novel.

The film directed by Chakri Toleti is also releasing in Hindi as Khamoshi starring

Tamannaah

and Prabhudeva. We have to wait and see whether the makers sort out the issue before the release date or the release is getting postponed.
