NCB summons director Ameer regarding Jaffer Sadiq's drug case

Director Ameer's name has has been involved in Jaffer Sadiq's drug racket case over the past few weeks, surrounding his involvement or knowledge about the drug racket. While the acclaimed director had clarified on the rumours surrounding his involvement, the latest is that Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has summoned Ameer for questioning in the Rs 2,000 crore international drug smuggling case

As per reports, Ameer will have to appear at the NCB office in New Delhi on April 2. Tamil film producer Jaffer Sadiq is reported to be wanted in a Rs 2,000 drug racket. It is to be noted that Jaffer Sadiq is a partner with director Ameer in his restaurant business. Director Ameer's upcoming film 'Iraivan Miga Periyavan' is produced by Jaffer Sadiq.

Director Ameer had released a video statement saying that the only thing certain sections of the media or certain people on YouTube stand to gain by dragging his name into the case is that they can tarnish his name or bring emotional stress to his family but nothing more. He also stated that he follows a principle that is against drinking, prostitution and interest.
