Theatre owners maintain that their ban on these films still remains
It looks like Osthe and Mambattiyans troubles are far from over. While various statements from various trade bodies in the Tamil film industry on Saturday indicated that all was well, the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association (TNTOA) now says that their ban on films that have sold their rights to Sun TV stands and allege that their name has been misused in the previous press release.

When CT got in touch with Paneerselvam, general secretary, TNTOA, he clarified, People have sent out a false statement to the media regarding our stand on screening Osthe and Mambattiyan. I would like to reiterate that our non-cooperation with the channel and films that have sold their satellite rights to them will continue until the channel settles their dues.
More over, theatre owners have also condemned exhibitior and distributor Abirami Ramanathan for taking the side of the producers. Abirami Ramanathan is supporting the producers instead of siding with the theatre owners on this issue. So, we have decided to not extend any sort of cooperation to his multiplex, Paneerselvam added. Reacting to the new development, actor Prashanth, who is playing the lead in Mambattiyan, said, Im not aware of this latest development and, so, it would not be fair for me to comment before knowing the exact details. Osthes director Dharani remained unavailable for comment.
Meanwhile The Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association has decided to not screen movies for a day to express solidarity with the Tamil Nadu government on the Mullaperiyar Dam issue. Paneerselvam says, We will be meeting on Monday to decide the date. It will most probably be on December 16, though it has not been confirmed yet.
