Vishal’s upcoming film
Chakra
is in trouble. The Madras High Court has ordered notice to
Vishal and the film’s director M
Anandan
to restrain the release of Chakra on
OTT
platforms on a plea by the production house Trident Arts.
The production house had accused that actor Vishal owed it a huge sum of money after the poor show of his earlier venture
Action
at the box office. Action was directed by Sundar C and had Tamanaah playing the leading lady.
Trident Arts’ counsel had said that Vishal had asked the production house to make the film at Rs 44 crore and that he would bear the production cost if the film didn’t make Rs 20 crore at the box office. The film didn’t do well and the production house alleged that Vishal owed them Rs 8 crore.
The actor and the production house seemed to have reached an agreement after Vishal agreed to act in another film to settle the amount and thus signed the deal for Chakra. However, the actor-director duo made Chakra with another producer, which was supposed to be directed by Trident Arts, said the counsel. Now, the production house has moved a plea to restrain the release of the film on OTT.
