Ram Gopal Varma is stirring yet another controversy, this time, in Tamil Nadu. The maverick filmmaker has announced that he would be making a film called
Sasikala, which will release before the state
elections
in Tamil Nadu.
"Making a film called SASIKALA.. it’s about what a woman S and a man E did to a Leader ..Film will release before TN elections on the same day as the
biopic
of the Leader," he posted. His tweet even had a proverb that went, "“it is easiest to kill , when you are the closest” - Ancient Tamil Saying."
While the director did not refer to the real-life persons in his tweet, he shared a picture of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, late J
Jayalalithaa and her confidant VK Sasikala.
The filmmaker also added, "SASIKALA is being produced by Rakesh Reddy the producer of Lakshmi’s NTR ..The film will be about a highly complex and conspiratoral relationship between J , S and E P S (sic)."

's announcement comes in the wake of reports that Sasikala, is likely to be released from prison by January 2021. Sasikala is currently in the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, Bangalore, after being convicted in a disproportionate assets case.
In September 2016, Jayalalithaa, who was then serving as the chief minister, was hospitalised for an illness. She was in the hospital for over three months, until she passed away on December 5, 2016. The mystery over sudden hospitalisation and her final days have been the subject of much speculation. Now, it looks like RGV is out to add to it.
Interestingly, the director has also informed that his film will be released on the same day as another biopic, referring to the Jayalalithaa biopic,
Thalaivi
, which stars Kangana Ranaut and is directed by Vijay.
