Superstar Nagarjuna is collaborating with filmmaker
Ram Gopal Varma after 25 years. After keeping their fans waiting with bated breath, RGV finally announced that the upcoming film will is titled ‘Officer’.
According to Varma, Nagarjuna will essay a never-before-seen character of a police officer in the film. Taking to Twitter, RGV wrote, “Alfred Hitchcock used to say he gets scared of cops even though he’s never done any crime. The tagline of Nagarjuna’s 'Officer' is inspired by that line of his. ‘Cops were never this scary’.”
Ram Gopal Varma initially planned to unveil the title on Sunday. However, the announcement was postponed due to the untimely death of actress Sridevi.
“After all the negativity around Sridevi, I am truly wanting some positivity and releasing the title, first look poster and release date of my most ambitious film with Nagarjuna is titled Officer,” wrote Ram Gopal Varma on Twitter.
Responding to RGV, Nagarjuna said, “I know what you mean Ram Gopal Varma remembering a line from a famous song ‘ఆనుకునంమని జరగవు అన్ని అనుకోలేదని ఆగవు కొన్ని’.”
The duo is famous for films like ‘Shiva’, ‘
Antham
’, ‘
Govinda Govinda
’ and ‘Drohi’.
Jointly produced by Ram Gopal Varma and Sudheer Chandra, the film also stars Myra Sareen in the lead. Touted to be an action-drama, the film is expected to release later this year.
