‘Pariyerum Perumal’ teaser: The Kathir-starrer rural drama looks promising

‘Pariyerum Perumal’ is an upcoming Tamil drama, which is being directed by Mari Selvaraj, a former assistant of Pa Ranjith. On Monday, the makers released the teaser cut from the film, which looks quite intense with some solid supporting cast. Actor Karthi plays the titular role, who aspires to become a lawyer. ‘Pariyerum Perumal’ seems to touch upon several thorny socio-political issues.

Appreciating the teaser on Twitter, actor Siddharth wrote, “Tamil Cinema continues the spirited fight for independent cinema. PariyerumPerumal looks set to add depth to this fight. Brilliant teaser.”

Produced by Pa Ranjith, the film stars Kathir and Anandi of ‘Trisha Illana Nayanthara’ fame in lead roles, while Yogi Babu will be seen in an important role. Among the technical crew, the film has music by the happening music composer Santhosh Narayanan. In fact, the song ‘Karuppi’ has become a viral hit on the internet.

Meanwhile, Pa Ranjith is gearing up for the release of the much-awaited ‘Kaala’ starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. Produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films, the film is all set to hit the screens on June 7.
